Hard times have a way of making time stand still. Every moment crawls and you experience every second in excruciating detail. Trying times have a way of bringing out the weakness and strength in you at the same time.

But guess what? The storm is over. The end was crafted even before it began. In the midst of the chaos and pain, when you can’t imagine that you’ll ever get through it, keep the faith. Keep fighting, you will get through this.

James 1:2-4 NIV

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, [3] because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. [4] Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

Your faith has to undergo trials, so that you can know and learn how to persevere. Your lessons in perseverance may seem to take a while, but we’re advised to practice patience and “let perseverance finish its work.”  These  trials are not in vain. At the end of it all, you come out mature and complete, not lacking a thing.

Every mature person has gone through their own hardship and trials. Each of us has to go through the same process to get there.

There is only one way to maturity, perseverance.
