Proverbs 20:6 NIV

Many claim to have unfailing love, but a faithful person who can find?

We are allotted thousands of words to use in a day, according to research, women more so than men. Of all these words, promises are made, declarations are uttered, but how often do you keep your word?

Vows, on wedding days have been taken lightly, contracts have come to depend on the integrity of the parties, promises no longer hold the confidence and expectation they should, because more people expect to be let down than to expect the realization of the words that have been said.

Nothing is as easy as making a promise, utter a word in anticipation of an unknown future yet with the immediate result of improving another’s perception of you, is too hard for many to pass up.

First encounters have been a haven for empty words with big promises, closely following the empty words of politicians during many if not all campaigns.

When you don’t keep your word, you can’t be relied upon. When you don’t mean what you say, no one will take you seriously. When a promise is broken, seldom will the disappointed parties put as much trust in your word as before.

A faithful person is indeed hard to find, and their reputation precedes them. One who’s word can be trusted, whose promises are relied upon because they will be fulfilled, such a person is a delight to know.

Be a faithful person. Keep your word.
