Emotions are what make us human. Make us real. The word ’emotion’ stands for energy in motion. Be truthful about your emotions, and use your mind and emotions in your favor, not against yourself. – Robert Kiyosaki
Robert Kiyosaki writes of the emotions that lead us to make wrong decisions about money, fear and greed. This got me thinking, if one is afraid to face their emotions when it comes to money, the same must ring true in every aspect of their lives.
- Fear. An interesting observation was once made, that the Bible tells us not to fear / be afraid 365 times! Fear stops us from taking risks, from being ourselves and from speaking out against wrong. What if we took this advice from the Bible to heart everyday, and refuse to bow to fear, no matter the consequences.
- Loneliness. Lonely people, or those afraid of facing loneliness make decisions that later hurt them, for a long time.
- Greed. There is more than enough for everyone. But some don’t believe that, and instead want to amass as much as possible for for their own selfish gain. The problem is they never get satisfied, and the more they get, the more they desire. They can never have enough.
Lest you think with your emotions, beware that you should be the master of them, and not the other way round. As Kiyosaki prescribes, you should be able to think with your head, not your emotions.
